The paintings of Laura Ross-Paul share an ephemeral quality delicately balanced between sadness and joy. Ross-Paul uses layers of oil and wax and paint to form figuratives balanced between land and sky, linking a bright translucence with the transcendent.
Laura imbues flashes of geometric shapes, like circles, into her paintings; an energy lifting off the canvas.
Winkler’s paintings have a sense of stillness and have been described as dreamlike. Her art keeps evolving and becomes more complex with every new experience. The result is a body of work that skillfully blends nature and abstraction, sometimes in energized images and at other times in tranquil and contemplative evocations.
